Sun Jung Kim
Sun Kim is a pianist, composer, jingle writer, educator and improviser. She was born in South Korea and started learning classical piano from her father at the age of 5 until 16. In 2002, after she received her Bachelor of philosophy in Korea, Ms. Kim arrived in the US, and started studying jazz piano at the Berklee College Of Music as a scholarship student, received her Bachelor of jazz piano performance in 2006, and Master’s degree of Music education and Performing Art in 2008, from New York University. Ms. Kim has been gaining her abilities to improvisational music, both playing and writing. She has been studying with Ralph Alessi, Vijay Iyer, Tony Moreno, and Andy Milen. Ms. Kim is a faculty member and also a piano accompanist of New York University (Steinhardt School) from 2007. She also writes and accompanies the jingle music for Korean TV, accompanies at Campus Mission Church, she is also teaching many private students from various age group, in both classical, and jazz. Ms. Sun Jung Kim joined the faculty of the Piano School of NYC in 2008.
