Chih-Tung Cheng

 Born in Taiwan, Ms. Cheng received her bachelor degree from The National Taiwan University (2005), the master degree in performance from Mannes College for Music(2007), and the PS.D from Mannes (2009). She is pursuing the DMA in CUNY Graduate Center. As a professional teacher, Ms. Cheng received the complete educational training as well as the professional musical studies on performance and composition during the period of pursuing the bachelor degree in NTNU. She is a certificated high school teacher qualified by The Ministry of Education in Taiwan and has two years experiences in teaching music class in National Sun Yat-Sen University Affiliated High School.

As a pianist, Ms. Cheng performed as a soloist in the Mannes Festival Concerts frequently during the period of studying in Mannes (2005-2009). The other performances include the chamber concerts and Baroque chamber concerts as a harpsichordist. In Taiwan, Ms. Cheng has been invited to give concerts in Taipei Artist Village on the program of J.S.Bach’s Well-temperate Clavier Book 1 ( 2003), Taipei Cultural Center Wen-Shan Branch construction on the program of J.S. Bach’s keyboard works ( 2004) and Kuo-Kwang Music Hall, Kaohsiung (2005,2006,2008). With the great passion for the music, the high level professional ability on piano performance and the well-trained educational background, Ms. Cheng’s teaching always combines the essential technique training and the thoughtful musical understanding, which can help students lay the solid foundation for long-term musical study and let music be their company forever.

Ms. Cheng has joined the faculty of the Piano School of NYC in 2009.
