Anna Grudskaya

Anna Grudskaya graduated in June 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music (Piano Performance) and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Santa Clara University. She began playing piano at the age of 4 with her grandmother, continued at age 9 with Rozina Tenenbaum, and during her time in college, studied with Professor Hans Boepple. Before attending Santa Clara University, she completed the Certificate of Merit program through the Music Teachers Association of California and performed regularly at MTAC Conventions and Honor Recitals. In 2005, she won the Concerto/Aria Competition at Santa Clara University and performed the Mozart Piano Concerto No. 19 as soloist with the SCU Orchestra that fall. During the fall of 2007, she spent a semester studying piano in Vienna, Austria with Antoinette Van Zabner through the Institute of European Studies Program. In 2009, she won 2nd place in Berkeley Piano Club's Van Waynen Piano Competition was awarded $1,000 and a solo recital at the Berkeley Piano Club. That summer she participated in the International Keyboard Institute and Festival in New York City.

Since 2007, she has taught piano and music theory to private students of various ages and levels, implementing a creative approach to successfully prepare students for class recitals and yearly examinations through the Music Teachers Association of California. In fall of 2008, she extended her teaching to the larger community through work at the Community School of Music and Art (Mountain View, California), where she taught classroom music for grades K-3, gave private and group piano lessons, and directed a chorus of 50 children. Her educational, travel, and work experiences have made her realize the importance of music within a culture and piqued her interest in music teaching and performing. Through her teaching, she hopes to help enrich her students’ educations, increase their appreciation for music, and realize their individual potentials and abilities.

She is currently pursuing a Masters Degree in Piano Performance at Mannes College under the instruction of Pavlina Dokovska.

Ms. Anna Grudskaya has joined the faculty of the Piano School of NYC in 2010.
